Borderlands Restoration Network (BRN) is both an independent public charity and a collaborative effort of multiple organizations that have come together to foster a restoration economy: one in which diverse livelihoods support and restore healthy natural systems and support prosperous and vibrant communities in the US – Mexico borderlands. BRN provides a year-around restoration fellowship and internship program, a summer field school to inspire and train the next generation of environmental leaders in the Sky Islands, and a setting where organizations, communities and individuals work together on cutting-edge research, programs and projects.
As a network, BRN was created in June 2014 and expanded with the support of the Biophilia Foundation and various partner organizations – Cuenca Los Ojos, Borderlands Restoration, Deep Dirt Institute, and Wildlife Corridors. Borderlands Restoration Network is guided by a board that provides for collaboration and leadership by organizations, communities and individuals dedicated to BRN's mission.
