Guided Nature Walk Saturday, February 18, 10AM-12PM Location: Smith Canyon Loop Trail, Borderlands Wildlife Preserve Length and Difficulty: 2.29 miles, easy to moderate trail Join us for a gentle morning hike along the Smith Canyon Loop Trail at the Borderlands Wildlife Preserve and get to know BRN Conservation Director Joaquin Murrieta-Saldivar. Participants will learn about landscape ecology and watershed conservation. Joaquin holds a Doctorate in Natural Resource Studies from the University of Arizona, specializing in human perception and relation to the natural world. Native Seed Collection Workshop & Tour of Seed Lab
October 14, 10AM-2PM BRN Seed Barn Patagonia, AZ Join us for a tour of the BRN Seed Lab to learn about our seed lab operations and programs, then head out to the beautiful San Rafael Valley to learn about native grasses and our ethical seed collection protocols. Participants will then help collect seed that will be used in a local ecological restoration project to mitigate erosion and revegetate the landscape to support habitat |
