Nature Walk Program

 Join us on the third Saturday of most months for a walk and talk on a variety of nature related subjects lead by local experts.

Walks are free and open to all, but may have an attendee limit, so make sure to check each event for specific details. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This program is possible thanks to a partnership with Borderlands Restoration Network, Friends of Sonoita Creek, and the Arizona Native Plant Society, Santa Cruz Chapter.

Geology Walk: CANCELLED March 21                                                                                                                       Patagonia, AZ

Join local geologist, Carrie Whitehill for a special 2hr geology walk to acquaint participants with the general geologic and tectonic history of the the Patagonia area. This walk will give an overview and include discussion of active geologic and hydrologic processes of the region. Find out how the landscape of Patagonia came to be, what rocks and minerals are found here and get a general lay of the land.

Carrie is the owner of Whitehill Consulting, LLC , Senior Project Manager/GIS-Remote Sensing Specialist, and Owner of EARTHspace in Patagonia. She holds a Ph.D. from Stanford in Tectonics/Geochronology/Earth Science Education, M.Sc. Vanderbilt Hydrogeology/Soils/Geoarchaeology, B.Sc. LSU - NeoTectonics/Archaeology. 

Participation limited to 15 individuals. Please rsvp to info@borderlandsrestoration.org to reserve your spot. Meeting place, and further directions will be provided at that time.
