Omar's Biography

Picture
Omar Calva has a Master of Bioscience from the University of Sonora, Mexico, and one of the co-founders of the Sonora Pioneer Speleological Group (GPES). Omar is a teacher at the Palo Alto Escuela Americana educating his students in conservation of the environment. His decision to participate in the BRN intern program is to learn more about BRN projects in Sonora, then share and apply it with his students to create a greenhouse where they can store seeds, plant and produce seeds similar to the Native Plant Materials Program and in the future become a BRN collaborator.

“My decision to participate in the BRN intern program is to learn more about their projects in Sonora and share and apply with my students. We are looking to create a greenhouse to use as a seed storage, and a plant and seed production facility, similar to the Native Plant Program, and in the future, become a BRN collaborator.”
