Sarah Taylor grew up in metro Detroit, followed by residing in Chicago, Bloomington, Indiana, and now lives in Hereford, AZ. Sarah has over 24 years experience in the nonprofit sector including marketing, administration, advocacy, and fundraising.
She began her career working in marketing and analytical services at the Indiana University Foundation project managing communications and donor research projects. From there she followed her passion for animals over then next nine years leading and reinvigorating a 50 year old animal welfare nonprofit expanding its capacity and work reaching national attention including raising awareness of animal welfare issues, advocating for stronger local and state level animal protection laws and building resources and relationships to help save animals through large scale animal cruelty cases including puppy mills, dogfighting, and hoarding situations. She also served as the President of the Indiana Alliance of Animal Control & Welfare Organizations and has provided testimony to the State Legislature for better animal protection laws.
After her time in the animal welfare field, Sarah served 4 years as the Resource Development Director for the United Way of Monroe County growing and managing a $1.3M fundraising program in support of resilient communities helping address food insecurity, individuals experiencing homelessness, youth services, and poverty. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts and is also a Certified Fundraising Executive, CFRE.
As a long-time nature lover, Sarah is thrilled to be living and working in support of the beautiful Sky Islands. She can be found with her husband hiking, volunteering at the local horse rescue, taking endless photos and working in her own yard where she has planted hundreds of native plants to provide habitat and food sources for wildlife.
