Engelmann's Prickly Pear
Opuntia engelmannii or “Englemann’s prickly pear” is a drought tolerant succulent found in full sun to partial shade from 1,000 to 9,000 ft elevation. It grows to 3 ft high and up to 4 ft wide. This plant flowers between April and July awith yellow to pink/orange blooms that attract native bees. The bright red fruits feed birds and other wildlife, as well as people!
