Verbesina encelioides, or "golden crownbeard," is a gorgeous annual aster that can grow up to 3ft tall, or even larger with additional irrigation. This lovely plant looks like a cross between brittlebush (Encelia farinosa) and the annual common sunflower (Helianthus annuus), and attracts a variety of different pollinating insects. Reseeds readily. Plant full sun to partial shade.
