The challenges to the Sky Islands are urgent as our climate becomes hotter and drier and development and barriers fragment the ecosystems that make up one of the most important biodiversity hotspots in the world. Here at Borderlands Restoration Network, we employ effective and simple ecological solutions that turn our shared landscapes to a trajectory of recovery and resilience, because doing nothing simply isn't an option.
To heal the land and ease stressors to wildlife we address pressing ecological needs through our native plant and watershed restoration programs to repair degraded land and declining watersheds, as well as making native seeds and plants available for large-scale restoration and to borderlands residents. These efforts directly support the over 7000 species of plants and animals of which at least 41 animals are endangered, by helping recharge groundwater, replace lost habitat and provide food sources.
Our education and outreach programs working on both sides of the border continue to expand by raising awareness, providing training, and fostering collaboration and a deeper understanding of the challenges facing the borderlands. Adults and youth alike learn practical skills through programs, workshops, and volunteer opportunities that increase community engagement and understanding of the place we call home.
We hope you will join us by making your tax-deductible gift to our year-end campaign. Your gift of any size makes all the difference to the wildlife, land, and people of the borderlands region.
Your donation will go to work immediately rebuilding habitat, restoring watersheds and supporting our tri-national education initiatives. Together we will rebuild, restore and reconnect the borderlands to a trajectory of recovery and resiliency long into the future.
