JADE's Bio
Jade Snowhook (they/them) studied ecological restoration at Cal Poly Humboldt and although they love the redwood forest, found a passion for rangeland restoration and the process of reversing desertification through soil conservation and native plant and ecosystem restoration. They grew up recreating in the sagebrush shrublands of Nevada which fostered their affinity for rangeland ecosystems.
They have worked as a seasonal technician in a variety of environments, from the redwood rainforest to more arid pine forests and oak woodlands of northern California, as well as burn scars in the Rockies. They are ready to follow their passion for rangeland restoration and low tech process based restoration which led them to BRN where they joined the watershed restoration crew in January 2025.
When they aren't restoring the ecosystem one rock dam at a time, they enjoy reading, hiking, camping, rock climbing, and creating in their free time. They are also really excited to learn more about native plants and animals.
