Join Borderlands Restoration Network on Saturday, May 9 from 7–9 AM for a guided hike with our Environmental Field Educator, Karla Hernandez!
Come experience the incredible biodiversity of the Madrean Archipelago, also known as the Sky Islands, where desert, grassland, and forest meet to support rare wildlife and unique ecosystems. Learn how these natural systems function and why they matter, and leave with a deeper understanding of how we can all play a role in protecting this remarkable landscape.
Hike will take place within the Borderlands Wildlife Preserve in Patagonia. Exact meetup location will be provided upon registration. Space is limited, so sign up early!

Grab a seat in the sun and get to know our local plants. Join Environmental Field Educator, Karla, for a sun-printing workshop to capture the unique shapes of the Madrean Archipelago. We’ll be using the historic cyanotype process to turn nature into art. It’s a great chance to slow down, observe the details of our ecosystem, and create something beautiful to take home. No art experience needed! ​

Native Seed Collection Workshop
October 17: 9 AM - 3 PM

Join us for a tour of the BRN Seed Lab to learn about our operations and programs, then head out to the beautiful San Rafael Valley to learn about native grasses and our ethical seed collection protocols.
Participants will help collect seeds that will be used in a local ecological restoration project to mitigate erosion and revegetate the landscape to support healthy habitats.
