XOCHITL's Bio

Xochitl Ramon Lopez is an Environmental Field Coordinator at Borderlands Restoration Network, where she co-coordinates and co-facilitates place-based environmental education programs throughout the Arizona-Sonora borderlands. Her work on the BRN Education team includes program development, working with students, hosting visiting groups, and community engagement.

 

Xochitl is a graduate of California Lutheran University, where she obtained a BA in Sociology and Spanish, and of the University of California, Los Angeles, where she earned a Master of Public Policy. While originally from Oxnard, California, she lived and worked in Los Angeles, California, before moving to southern Arizona. In her current role, Xochitl draws on her experience in higher education as an educator and academic coordinator, as well as her work with various nonprofits, where she has organized youth groups for several years.

 

Spending most of her free time camping, hiking, backpacking, and trail running led Xochitl to pursue a career in the environmental sector, completing a backcountry trails season in the Eastern Sierras of California before joining BRN in early 2026.
