Aspen Thies (she/her) grew up in Casa Grande, Arizona, which is where her admiration for the Sonoran Desert and her love for the outdoors began. Later she moved to Tucson and began exploring the Sky Island region which further instilled a passion for conservation and recreation.
She graduated from Colorado State University in 2021 with a degree in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology and returned to Tucson wanting to start a career working outside and making a positive impact on the environment. Aspen then joined Borderlands Restoration Network as a Watershed Restoration Technician in 2022 and now serves as the Watershed Restoration Program Coordinator.
