NICOLE's Bio
Nicole Luna (she/her) is from Douglas, AZ and comes from a large family of seven. She graduated from Douglas High School in 2017 and started Cochise College in spring of 2018 pursuing an Associates Degree in wildlife biology.
Nicole has always been a nature enthusiast enjoying outdoor scenery and a fondness of animals. During her junior year of high school, she became part of Borderlands Earth Care Youth (BECY) and rejoined BECY in 2017. She was fascinated by projects such as building ponds for Chiricahua leopard frogs and erosion control where she got to learn how to build rock structures that help build sediment in the hopes of bringing back vegetation.
During 2018 and 2019 Nicole became a BECY Youth Leader and then a Program Facilitator. She gained skills and knowledge throughout her years with BECY that gave her the opportunity to become part of the BRN Watershed Restoration team as a Restoration Technician.
